Found out Mary Poppins came out before The Sound of Music. We were wondering that when we watched it. Also, this won the 38th Oscar for Best Picture (this is from the title of the video)!
Rebecca! I feel so special with a blog title with my name on, and then to find out it was about the Sound of Music. oh my, almost too much excitment to handle.
I was aware of the timeline with Marry Poppins, but I'm glad to be informed of the 38th best picture. I can see that being the case--for it's time, the quality was amazing.
Confession: Once I watched Marry Poppins and the Sound of Music in the same day...
another confession: I saw a traveling theatre group preform the sound of music live at a local historial theatre my freshman year and may have cried tears of joy for having experienced it. My friend made fun of me, as the actors were mere amateaurs, but I swear the lead sounded just like Julie!
